Premier League: Football’s Financial Powerhouse.
The Premier League is more than football. It’s a global business engine, attracting billions in TV money, sponsorships, and worldwide fans.
For the 2023/24 season, revenues reached £3.63 billion. Most came from broadcasting and commercial rights, although after-tax profits dropped to £118 million due to rising legal and operational costs. Clubs shared £2.92 billion, distributed according to TV appearances and performance.
Looking forward, sponsorships with Coca-Cola, Adobe, and EA Sports are worth hundreds of millions, while TV and commercial deals for 2025–2028 are expected to reach £12.25 billion.
Globally, the Premier League commands an enormous audience: in the 2024/25 season, some 1.87 billion people follow the league weekly via media interactions, and matches are broadcast in 189 countries to some 900 million homes. It is also available in over 200 territories with a potential TV audience of 4.7 billion people.
